just a stone's throw from important places like Arezzo, Sansepolcro, Anghiari, Siena, Pienza, Montepulciano, Montalcino and magnificent Umbria. The owners have decided to share their home with those who want to live the simple but true rhythm of the Tuscan countryside: among panoramas stretching out as far as the eye can see, charming hills, soft colours and a whole range of artistic treasures which have discreetly enriched the breathtaking landscapes in this wonderful area.
Guests can choose from 3 twin rooms (35001-35002-35003 BLUE ROOM), all with private en-suite bathrooms, furnished with old family furniture from the 18th to 20th Centuries, as well as all the family areas: the studio-library, the living rooms and the dining room. Guests can also make use of the garden which is in tip-top shape and has vast areas where you can take the sun or stay in the shade in the large dense pine grove. The Southern garden boasts a splendid view spanning over 80 km with Mount Amiata in the background; the Northern garden is surrounded by fruit trees and has a lovely view of Cortona. Breakfast is served in the elegant environment of the dining room, with home-made cakes following the recipes of the great-grandmother Teresa, combined with home-made marmalades and jams using the fruits found here in these fields. All of this is served using extremely-fine chinaware, fabrics and silverware. In the evening, if you wish, you can have dinner here, prepared with local dishes of Tuscan tradition, following the change of the seasons: spelt salad in the Summer, chick-pea soup in the Autumn, ribollita stew in the Winter and tagliatelle with fresh tomato, wild duck with fennel, apple pie and a whole series of other delights, all just right for the various seasons and based on genuine local produce.
The
guests can dine on the simple but genuine dishes of the local tradition.
For those who wish to learn to prepare true Tuscan specialities, Simonetta can organise cooking classes for one or more days. |
